Marianne is a native of San Antonio, Texas, and the middle child of German immigrants who came to America after WWII. At a very young age, Marianne loved to draw. In 1990 she began painting in oil when she attended workshops taught by accomplished artist Richard Weers. Working full time for a major airline for 22 years, it wasn’t until she retired early in 2004 that she began to pursue her dream full-time.Dogs are her favorite painting subject; she paints other animals and still life. Continuing to learn and develop as an artist, Marianne attends workshops regularly, and has been taught by other talented and successful artists such as Karen McCauley, Carol Marine, and Kaye Franklin. She has been a member of The River Art Gallery in San Antonio for 19 years and is a also a member of the Canine Art Guild and San Antonio Visual Artists (SAVA).
