A native of Texas, Nicole Vachier Lozano was raised in San Antonio, and graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University. Nicole works by day for a large financial institution, and spends her evening and weekends creating. This balance translates directly to Nicole's material of choice, glass. Working with glass requires a balance of applied science and creativity. Nicole applies an understanding of the physics involved in temperature control to achieve specific results. Her work is influenced by this process as well as the world around her. Her work reflects influences from details she has observe in nature, from her travels and experience in other areas such as calligraphy, book binding and fabrics.
